In the last few weeks while our evangelistic team was busy going from college to college, island to island, preaching and witnessing to thousands of college kids, I shared about the methods of evangelism they employed in the campuses; via room to room evangelism, personal evangelism, as well as mass evangelism.
We also shared a couple of stories about miracles the Lord did, in the face of opposition and hindrance from the school authorities of one college, and also shared about the co-operativeness of other school authorities in another college, who were moved by the Lord to allow the preaching to go on. And we have the numbers after 27 days: nearly twenty-seven thousand professions of faith. That is: a thousand souls reaped for the kingdom of God per day!
Yet, one of the team members who returned shared this testimony last Sunday: If we had a bigger team, we could have reached 100,000 people. We could have many thousands more salvation decisions. His eyes were red as he said this, to a group of quietly-listening Christians who mostly had not ever participated in such an evangelistic crusade yet.

Philippines mass evangelism 2009
Our dear brother shared this story: There was a college who only gave us one hour to do room to room evangelism, and with the people we had, we managed to cover only 15 classrooms in that one hour – each person preaching twice (assuming 20 minutes to half an hour in each classroom). But there were plenty more than 15 classrooms in that college – we had no time to go into the rest of the classes! Thousands of kids did not get a chance to hear of God’s love for them, because there… wasn’t… enough… people in the team!
And this could have been their only chance!
Some folk reacted to the numbers with skepticism… or should I say, disbelief? It’s so hard to share the gospel, they say. Nobody wants to hear. We live in Asia! It’s very hard here! People are so staunch in their own religious beliefs! They’ll persecute you, they’ll mock and shame God’s name, and chase you out of town! How in the world could you have witnessed to nearly 39 thousand people in the last four weeks, and seen nearly 27 thousand saved??
Our dear brother reminded us of a bible truth that we often miss, in James 2:5 …Hath not God chosen the poor of this world rich in faith, and heirs of the kingdom which he hath promised to them that love him?
The rich have no need of God, until except perhaps they are struck down by some terrible disease like cancer, and they have exhausted every other means of a cure. The poor, on the other hand, have nothing in this world. God has a special place in His heart for them. We go, not to the top universities in the Philippines, but to the little towns and the provincial campuses which most people have never heard of, and would never go to because they are so insignificant! And there, we found the thousands who are willing to hear, and ready to receive the beautiful truth that Christ Died For Their Sins.
The shock of everything is now starting to sink in and the dust is starting to settle some.
The ultrasound specialist, after much trying, was finally able to see some of our unborn baby’s face and mouth and confirmed the cleft lip which is on the right side. She also said that she saw a gap in the hard palate which is the front of the mouth. It is… Read More....
There was the old grandma who was being cared for by her daughter and son. One day as I was reading my Bible, the daughter asked me about it and I told her what I was reading. She was excited and told me that she had one too and was a part of God’s family. I knew there was something different about her. She took such gentle care of her… Read More....
A few months ago I was thinking to myself, “I don’t have any real China stories.” A ‘China’ story is the kind that can only happen to you in China (of course) but really sets your time here apart from anything else you’ve experienced in your life; it’s something that you think, “I’ve never experienced anything like this!” and somehow it changes you. Well, it finally happened. After two years… Read More....

Truly an eye opener indeed!
Every believer a missionary and every un believer a mission field.
Praise od for those sauls being saved.
Yup our country is so prveledege to have our freedom of religion; that is to express our our own belief. Yet how I do pray that like what we do also in a nearby schol campuses: i.e. room to room bibble studies and 1 hour each class frm 1st year to 4th year.. our job is not finish yet.. thus….: baptizing them.( obedience).. teaching them(discipleship).. It is my hearts desire to complete the great commissions om this matter. to channel them as well to every local churches. where they could learn more about te God whom they have heard and believe.. As concerned may I know if the team had any program for the souls reaped. ? and perhaps we can also have the idea Thank you. God bless those precious souls.
Yes, of course. The SMCI is a ministry of a local church in each area/island, and our team of over 40 SMCI full time missionaries as well as dozens of volunteers follow up the new believers. The SMCI is a recognized registered chapter in these colleges and they hold weekly BS, discipleships and fellowships. Details in future articles
