I first met Meliza in February 2005. We were in the Philippines on another mission trip, and one of our tasks was to meet and interview several young people who had expressed their wish to serve the Lord full time in the Student Movement for Christ International (SMCI) ministry. Meliza was one of them. When we “How can I fear when Jesus is near? He ever watches over me! Worries all cease. He gives me peace. How can I fear with Jesus?” I will always marvel at the fact that God can and is willing to use someone like me by looking back at my life. About four years ago, I was a Virgenia I have much reasons to say how I am blessed of God through SMCI. First, it was ate Rosita General a full time staff of SMCI Cebu chapter who shared to me the good news and the truth about salvation. I am not a student but was a church goer at that time. Now I Brother P graduated from a well-known university in China as a post-grad and was offered a high-paid job in an MNC in a very well-established industry. His family and relatives back in the small village were certainly very proud of his achievement. He is probably the only 1st post grad in their village. |
