Reports from the mission field (3)

“…got the green light to start a new ministry in AMA today!!! PTL..we will have our first evangelistic meeting next thursday, also was given verbal permission to start in Informatics! Tomorrow will try again in BIT. Praise the Lord for Christian brethren willing to help…” Kim, Tues 17th Nov.

With all the busyness going from one campus to another, serving the Lord by serving the students who are so eager to hear His word, our workers on the field hardly communicate with the home church, and we are left wondering what has become of the exciting campus ministry in the Philippines after the recent evangelism campaign. Didn’t 30 thousand students get saved in the campaign? Well, what is happening now? Is the work continuing??

A lot of us have stopped wondering, because Facebook has become a great means and given us instant access to the latest news, the snippets, the praises, the prayer requests, and we can even respond to them instantly with encouragements and comments. PRAISE GOD for Facebook!

The above is a FB snippet from Kim, one of our faithful missionaries in Bohol, Philippines. She shared news about going into new colleges and campuses, reaching even more souls. Here’s another Facebook update from another missionary, and this one receives a nod of approval from this missions coordinator:

“…working on team budgets… plans for the future… reading testimonies… asking God to send His people! Great day!” 19th Nov

Good girl. Working on budgets. November is budget time. Not a very pleasant exercise, but needful. And the following FB updates are from our girl in Sabah, moving to a new apartment…

“…everything is fixed.. thank God for using people who helped us carry things.. THANK YOU SOOOOO MUCH…” 1st Nov

“…its a blessing to rest after so much trouble of cleaning the house…” 2nd Nov

From our dear missionary in Indon…

“…more opportunities for discipleship here. The Lord had already prepared them long ago by placing in their hearts to reach out to their own people. Only need to BUILD them up in faith and in the knowledge of His grace and His person and SEND them out in His time.” 12th Nov

Are YOU on Facebook? If you are going to get distracted with the online games, quizzes and what-have-yous, you’re probably better off staying away from it, but if you want to connect with like-minded brethren in another country, believe it or not, FB is a great place to hang out in!

Our workers and missionaries serving in the campuses of Central Philippines have been busy week after week, visiting schools, proclaiming the Good News to masses of students as well as in room to room preaching and personal witnessing.

Here are the latest updates from our faithful workers on the island of Bohol:
Last week, our team went to the northwest and interior part of Bohol, and approximately 1932 professed… Read More....

Positioning to live within a community – Tim is a tentmaker. For prudent reasons, we cannot divulge his real name or citizenship. He did not go to another country but had to make a cross cultural leap within his own country.

Tim has had a growing burden for the majority people group in his country. In this country, it is against the law for this mainstream people group to… Read More....

A few weeks ago, a co-worker of mine who is married to a Korean Christian worker told me something interesting. She said “Korean missionaries unite around the Gospel but we bring our differences to the mission field and fight over them!”

Koreans are basically a strong militant race. They do not shun a fight. The Korean Christian population is also clearly divided into conservative Presbyterians and exuberant Charismatics. In… Read More.... | 1 Comment
