Evangelism: A lifestyle

Going back to the Philippines for winter break is something I truly looked forward to. After a not so normal Christmas and New Year/birthday celebration in China, I was more than ready to hibernate and enjoy the sun in my home country alone. But as usual, plans change every minute. As Hudson Taylor said, “ Man proposes, God disposes.” Being at the center of His will though is still the best. So instead of being alone for 2 weeks, I was almost never home for 2 weeks.

Let me share a story why I think we shouldn’t take a break from evangelism.

I went to a hot spring resort with my friends. On the way there, we experienced a lot of difficulties and one could say that Satan is doing everything to stop us from coming. With that in mind, I started asking God to reveal to me what He wants me to do. A few hours later we found out. There, we saw a family from my home church and they informed us that four buses of college students from the university where I graduated are coming later that night for a star gazing activity. My best friend and I then decided that this is the field that the Lord prepared for us. We waited for opportunities till 12 mid night. (I must say that we were not looking hard enough.) The door was so wide open it’s blasphemy not to obey. I talked with a gay student and I found out that the Lord has been pursuing him. At the end of our conversation he said something that really moved me. He said, “ Sister, God really wants me and it’s amazing.”

Yes, God do want him. God came to seek and save him. He came to seek those who are lost so that they will be found. No sinner is too sinful for Him and that alone is worth rejoicing for.

I was so blessed to have a new brother that day.

There was the old grandma who was being cared for by her daughter and son. One day as I was reading my Bible, the daughter asked me about it and I told her what I was reading. She was excited and told me that she had one too and was a part of God’s family. I knew there was something different about her. She took such gentle care of her… Read More....

A few months ago I was thinking to myself, “I don’t have any real China stories.” A ‘China’ story is the kind that can only happen to you in China (of course) but really sets your time here apart from anything else you’ve experienced in your life; it’s something that you think, “I’ve never experienced anything like this!” and somehow it changes you. Well, it finally happened. After two years… Read More....
