Early this year (2009) a team from the Wilds USA came to Doane to transmit the camping knowledge that they have employed in reaching many young Americans to the Lord. That was the birth of e-CAMP at Doane Church. The church is not a novice in the camping ministry having handled hundreds of camp activities since her inception. But e-CAMP is different.
e-CAMP is Evangelistic Camp. As the name connotes, this camp is geared solely toward evangelism. A lot of preparations, spiritual and otherwise, have to be undertaken to ensure that all aspects were considered and covered. The Camp staff planned the program, assigned speakers, practised the “fun time” and chose songs to be sung during the sessions. All parts of the camp program were designed to preach the gospel either collectively or individually, and to demonstrate that Christianity need not be boring. Recruited counsellors were trained before camp to handle the rigid responsibilities of a counsellor.
The first e-CAMP was held at Camp Evangel Barroc, Tigbauan. The participants were college students coming from West Visayas State University. It was a 70-30 ratio of “Unsaved” and “Saved” campers. The event yielded a good harvest that led to even greater opportunities for God’s work to spread in the said university.
The second up to the recent e-CAMP, was held at God’s Evangelistic Bible Seminary in San Rafael, Iloilo. It became a partnership in reaching the young people of San Rafael and its neighbouring towns such as Lemery, San Enrique, Dingle, and Barotac Viejo. The different pastors of those towns brought young people from their areas with the desire that the Holy Spirit would convict the hearts and convert souls for God’s kingdom. Most of these young people were unchurched; some were even nuisance of their community. Their age ranged from 12 – 25. With the bombardment of the gospel from the preaching time, counsellor’s time, and even the free time, God’s word found its way into the heart of these youngsters. By the end of the camp, most of them professed to have made a decision to accept Christ and/or to shun sin or dedicate their lives to the Savior.
This partnership has not only resulted to salvation for many young people, but it has also been a training ground for the students of GEBS and, later, to choosen Doane Baptist Seminary students on how to handle future e-CAMPs . Good, brotherly relationship has been established among the churches and the Bible schools because of the common heartbeat which is also the same heartbeat as that of our Savior Jesus Christ, i.e. winning the lost.
Even the church people of Doane have begun to participate in the camping ministry by volunteering their services or by helping monetarily for the expenses of the camp.
In this entire endeavour, praise and glory can only be ascribed to God, and His people are grateful for the opportunity to take part in His great commission.
The shock of everything is now starting to sink in and the dust is starting to settle some.

There was the old grandma who was being cared for by her daughter and son. One day as I was reading my Bible, the daughter asked me about it and I told her what I was reading. She was excited and told me that she had one too and was a part of God’s family. I knew there was something different about her. She took such gentle care of her… Read More....
A few months ago I was thinking to myself, “I don’t have any real China stories.” A ‘China’ story is the kind that can only happen to you in China (of course) but really sets your time here apart from anything else you’ve experienced in your life; it’s something that you think, “I’ve never experienced anything like this!” and somehow it changes you. Well, it finally happened. After two years… Read More....
