On my recent visit to Medan, Indonesia, I was invited to join the Christian fellowship of a polytechnic. As I entered into the large auditorium on the campus, I was greeted by the committee of the fellowship. I was impressed by the way this committee organized the event. They were outstandingly happy, zealous and efficient.

I was in Sumatra recently visiting Christian ministries in the southern part of this large Indonesian island. Though the population of Sumatra is largely conservative Muslim there are pockets of effective Christian witness – especially through the good work of Christian-run schools.

During the course of my visit, I met a very interesting Indonesian Christian.

It is so wonderful to follow God’s leadership. His leadership is so REAL!

Yesterday, I wrote about how God led me to say “Yes” to start a new ministry in Papua (Irian Jaya), Indonesia.

This morning God led me to seriously pray about an earlier invitation to start a ministry in Kupang, Nusa Tenggara Timor (West Timor),

I’ve often been asked the question “How do you get into so many countries and start so many ministries?” Usually my answer is “God leads, I just follow!”

I think that many think that I’m just trying to sound humble. I believe that many actually think that I’m some kind of expert about “mission needs”

After the recent Jakarta bombing, I am afraid that some of us will harbour resentful thoughts of Muslims. After such events I too used to think that they were unreasonable, hateful and therefore hopeless!

A few years ago, God convicted me that He “so loved the world” and that Christ died for them too!

I have often heard statements like: “There is so much anti-Christian persecution in Indonesia, isn’t it foolish for you to go there?”

And I would reply: “There are 17,000 islands in Indonesia – so I have no problem finding one where it is peaceful!” The truth is that I will probably have no problem finding 16,999
