Going back to the Philippines for winter break is something I truly looked forward to. After a not so normal Christmas and New Year/birthday celebration in China, I was more than ready to hibernate and enjoy the sun in my home country alone. But as usual, plans change every minute. As Hudson Taylor

I arrived at 3:22 AM. It’s too early for me to go home. My building opens at 6:00 and I don’t want to wake people up so I decided to hang out outside the train station for an hour or two. I’m now sitting on a foot high bench of an outdoor breakfast stall and  Let me start by saying I don’t know what to write. That is weird considering the fact that I have so many things to write about. I’ve been sick but He has given me joy in the midst of it. I have learned the joy of waiting on Him. I have seen the deceitfulness of  Sitting inside a classroom is something I always dreaded. One friend said, “I can’t sit to save my life.” So, if I can’t sit still for an hour or two, how in the world would I manage a 26-hour train ride to LY city confined to a bench shared by three people? Well, I don’t have Life pressures gradually got him. Ministry and full time service turned out to be more demanding than he expected. There was no reward but reprimanding. The hours were long and work never seemed to end. Life was lonely and discouraging. He soon forgot the reasons for serving the Lord. He then started to He refused to read the Bible cos he knew God’s word would convict his heart about his decision. He dared not pray (in his own words) cos he knew God would tell him that it was a bad decision. He struggled. He wrestled with his loving Heavenly Father. Finally, he chose the path  We said good-bye to winter wonderland, snow, its minus 30+ degree Celsius weather, and most of all, our dear spiritual family members and numerous friends. As we now “thaw” on sunny island, relaxing and enjoying more modern environment, more comfort, more friends, more and more and more of the supposedly “good” things in “I love you, NT! Hug hug! Trust that you are growing in Him daily, and learning how to love Him more each day! Thinking of you!” That’s a text message that I had wanted to send to my little sister-in-Christ in Xinjiang.
