First week of the evangelism in the campuses

This entry is Part 3 of 7 in the series Philippines 2009 Campus Evangelism

At the end of the first week of the evangelism campaign in the campuses of Negros, Philippines, we have the tally for the five days of work. Pastor Mike reported 14,825 have heard, and 10,700 made decisions for the Lord!

The second week of campaign will take them to Bohol and they will be ready for the crusade on Monday. They need an extra blanket of prayer!

A few years ago, I had the opportunity to tag along with an evangelistic team for a couple of days in the little town of Guihulngan in the Philippines. The team went to NORSU, i.e. Negros Oriental State University.

And if you’re wondering why I am not part of this year’s team – do note that this evangelism campaign is no picnic. It is very serious work, a huge spiritual war. The ones who go are our well-trained, frontline soldiers. These troops are equipped for the battle; they storm the gates of hell daily, snatching souls from the brink of darkness! And the enemy they face does not call a ceasefire for even one second!

As for me… the Lord has put me in different niche in the mission field and I’ll stay right here. Not part of the team, physically, but still part of the battle, in prayer. What about you?

There was the old grandma who was being cared for by her daughter and son. One day as I was reading my Bible, the daughter asked me about it and I told her what I was reading. She was excited and told me that she had one too and was a part of God’s family. I knew there was something different about her. She took such gentle care of her… Read More....

A few months ago I was thinking to myself, “I don’t have any real China stories.” A ‘China’ story is the kind that can only happen to you in China (of course) but really sets your time here apart from anything else you’ve experienced in your life; it’s something that you think, “I’ve never experienced anything like this!” and somehow it changes you. Well, it finally happened. After two years… Read More....
