This blog focuses on Christian Missions in Asia.
We provide a comprehensive missionary resource on the principles and practices of Christian missions in Asia as well as accounts of real-life experiences and testimonies by missionaries serving in Asia.
Most missions websites are about a particular mission work, i.e. a missionary starts a blog or a website so that people will know about his work. Such sites are useful in keeping people updated about that ministry but does not give an idea of what else is happening in the mission field around that ministry.
Most books on missions are about “great” missionaries who lived many years ago. While there are many wonderful principles (eg. the faithfulness of God, the steadfast faith of the missionary, the precious guidance of God’s Word) which can be learned from their lives, the fact that they lived many years ago often gives the reader a wrong idea of the mission field – which has obviously changed from those long bygone days. In fact, many Christians are terrified of going to missions because of the impressions that they have got from reading such books.
Most books on modern missions are written by western Christians and often do not describe the situation that exists in the Asian mission field. Though the wind of the Spirit is blowing in Asia and some of the most fruitful and exciting ministries are in Asia, there is a dearth of information about what’s happening here. There is a definite informational void about Christian missions in Asia.
Even more needful is a truly Asian perspective from Asian Christians on the principles and practices of missions in an Asian context. Asia is very diverse, unlike Europe which shares common Christianized roots, or South America which is basically Latino Romanist.
Many of our missions projects are in the restricted access nations of east and south-east Asia. Our contributors have several decades of experience in this region and even now continue to serve actively, either as missionaries, evangelists or as director of missions (under a local church missions board).
We pray that God will make this blog a blessing to those who desire to be a part of the Great Commission – in prayer, in giving and in service.
